Hi, I’m Abigail Gehring Lawrence.

You may know me from my books Back to Basics and Homesteading, from my cookbooks, or maybe my children’s books, God’s Very Good Plan and Little Fox Gives Thanks. Or maybe you’re here for my homeschool printables. If you’re looking for my photography site, hop on over to www.southernvermontphotographers.com.

Above (and under and through) all that, I’m a woman who tries to follow Jesus, a wife to a good man, and a homeschooling mom to three kids who range in age from toddler to teen. Our days are splashed with joy, but we’re not strangers to heartache. We’re forever changed by the pain and beauty of foster care and adoption. And our world was shattered when our precious daughter Hazel Ruth was stillborn.

We live in an 1800s farmstead in southern Vermont, which we’ve been renovating and restoring for more than a decade. I love my garden in summer and my homemade buckwheat bread in winter. Candlelit dinners around the farm-style table we built ourselves. Cut flowers arranged in old jars my son dug up in the woods. Meaningful conversation over cups of steaming chai. Laughter. Sunlight.

I’m so glad you’re here.
